Ed Ruscha said at the end of his book They Called Her Styrene: 'Sometimes found words are the most pure because they have nothing to do with you. I take things as I find them. A lot of these things come from the noise of everyday life.' This particular sign was found in a fantastic junk store that no longer exists. The sign was probably designed for a print shop that wanted a catchy name with a double meaning. I love the fact that I can take that original double meaning and force it back into a single, powerful statement. With the election so near, it is time for all of us to express our graphic concern by voting.
